Discrepancy between circadian rhythms of inulin and creatinine clearance

To elucidate the disparity between circadian rhythmicity of inulin and creatinine clearance,
we simultaneously measured inulin and creatinine clearances every 3 hours during 1 day in
14 normal subjects and in 8 patients with nephrotic syndrome. All patients and normal
subjects had a circadian rhythm for inulin clearance with a maximum during daytime and a
relative amplitude of 21%±2%. For creatinine clearance a rhythm was either absent or
